Impeto was created to combine strategic consulting with entrepreneurial product development. The firm operates on the conviction that strategic intelligence about emerging technologies requires both advisory engagement and independent analytical work.

This dual approach — advising decision-makers while simultaneously building proprietary analytical tools — creates a unique platform for understanding how technological change reshapes markets and investment landscapes.

Origins

Impeto Impact was founded in Graz in 2024, out of a concrete observation: in energy and infrastructure markets, organisations increasingly decide on technologies whose economics change faster than the models used to evaluate them. Traditional consulting provides judgement but rarely a verifiable calculation. Vendors provide calculations but rarely neutrality.

Impeto deliberately occupies the position in between: independent of manufacturers, operators and financiers, yet technically deep enough to compute assumptions. The focus is battery storage and flexibility in the electricity system — the area where technology development, regulation and capital-market requirements currently collide most strongly.

That work produced BESS Invest in 2026: a SaaS platform that models the economics of utility-scale battery storage in 15-minute resolution across several revenue markets, grounded among other things in joint research with WU Vienna. Advisory and product have developed in tandem ever since: engagements reveal which questions recur, and the product makes the answers reproducible.

What we hold to

Independence

No sales commissions, no vendor ties, no success fees on projects we assess. An assessment has to hold even when the result argues against a project.

Traceability

Every figure must be traceable back to its assumption. We model transparently, document data sources and report scenario ranges.

Depth over volume

Few engagements, but at the resolution the decision demands. Topics we cannot cover credibly are declined or handled with specialists.

Confidentiality

Client project data, sites and calculations remain unnamed. References are published only with explicit consent.
